Some help please...have a Zero, and want to use the hollow and drain feature on the new Photon Workshop slicer. The hollowing is pretty straightforward, but I cant seem to get the punch/drainhole bit to work. Not really sure what the black rectangular image and 'auto' is supposed to do...it doesn't seem to do anything? I then stumbled on dragging from this area onto the model which does seem to generate a hole but then the software crashes ?‍♂️ anyone with any experience with this feature? I want it to work in this slicer, not Chitubox before the suggestions. Thank you ?

Hi, I completely understand I'm going to get a lower resolution on the Photon Zero....so before I start tinkering with settings, is this about as good as it will get on this printer? (Which is fine with me if it is!)

Also....can you apply a clear lacquer...will this improve the quality?

Yeah, the antialiasing does a decent job of hiding what it’s doing. That looks about like what I was seeing, but I’ve still not got mine tuned - it’s still overcooking.

John Jones that's maybe because the photon zero's screen is just under the FEP , there is not glass protection on it , so the diffraction of the light is null and the pixel precision is better ;)
You can do the same with some diy on the photon or photon S

What size is the model? Can't tell how good the details are unless we know what we're looking at. Looks pretty good to me though!

Appreciate all the past help, im getting more acquainted with resin , but I'm back with a couple more queries!

This is my second and third print. Wanted to try something a bit more intricate, but there has been issues!

1. I'm using the 'Hollow' function as standard....is this a wise thing to do? On these pics some areas are more white and solid and I guess that's the bits that cant be hollowed?

2. I'm guessing this shows up more becasue it's a translucent resin?

3. The second pic, i lost an arm (I'm guessing my supports here weren't upto scratch), and the face lost definition, is this becasue the layer setting should be 0.05? It was that as standard, but I changed to 0.1

4. Anti Aliasing is set to 1. This Zero model can go to x16.....would I set it here as standard?

Any advice gratefully received. Ive looked through previous answers and have watched some you tube vids, but would like some direct feedback too.

I am running models again but this time in grey .

Hi, my first resin print (not including test file!)....I didnt tweak much from stock and used auto supports. Were all these supports necessary?
It also printed with a raft, which was a pain to take off. I'm used to not using a raft with FDM, is it the same with resin, not really needed?

Hi, sorry for the newbie questions, but wondering if someone can help me with these?

1. I'm using water washable resin. Washing in an anycubic wash and cure. Once removed after washing, (but before curing), do I still need gloves on?

2. Just printed the second test print on the stick - the exposure test - but it was mega stuck to the plate. Broke a couple taking it off. I just hit print from the stick so not my settings, but wondering if I'm doing something obviously wrong?

3. The residue in the cleaning container is water/resin not ipa. How many times can I use same water, and becasue its water can I just dispose in drain?

New to resin, and I've searched but cant find a definitive answer, so apologies if it's been askedcalready!
Is there any way to know how much resin I need to put in for each build? Is there something in the slicer software to estimate?
Failing that, is resin ok left in the vat for a few days with the lid on?

Hi, thanks for accepting. About to push the order button on a Photon Zero, and there seems to be a lack of reviews online...does anyone have one? It's to compliment 2 x fdm machines I have for smaller more detailed models. The size, and the fact one reviewer stated hardly any smell attracts me. Any views on this? Thank you
