Just a first impression of the photon zero and the people telling the quality isn't good

Im absolutly satisfied with the results for that price and this is only the test file I printed with a random color.

But from my logic... When the test print is perfect there has to be a special setting to achieve?! I mean, I have no idea about the settings they used on the exposure time test or if it has been really done in photon slicer

For the price they're okay. But for minis the resolution is just too low. From a distance they look okay.

Small progress on my Destiny Ghost, I did make a mistake on the horns so had to redo those.
All parts will be coated with UV protective matt clear coat instead of paint.
Printed using Harzlabs Model Resin Black, White and Blue at 50 Microns.

I always use Photon file validator before printing, which shows the layers somehow and can kinda also fix problems with unsupported isles.

It's what we had before chitubox etc. existed. I trust it, shows every single voxel. It's a preprint visualisation tool, no guessing involved. Browser based, view from anywhere, on any device.

After nearly cutting my fingers off using a razor to remove prints, I made a simple jig to hold the build plate without putting pressure on leveling bolt.

Edit:
I think the reason I have so much trouble removing parts is because I'm printing flat mechanical parts (gears etc) directly on the plate, no supports or rafts to help removal. I need to use a razor to reduce damage. Probably have the bottom layer exposure too high also.

Am i suppose to move the build plate to the Home position before starting a print? I had it all the way up (where it moved to at the end of the last print), but it didnt move after starting. Sadly i didnt notice until now. So a little extra work to clean, but what ever.

Along with possibly picking up an ultrasonic cleaner I'm thinking about trying some simple green or similar cleaner in place of IPA. For those who have used something like this: Does it cloud up as it gets saturated (i.e. is it easy to tell if it's time to change it out), and how do you dispose of it? With IPA I put it into a container in the sun, let the resin separate and solidify, then filter & re-use the leftover IPA. Does this work with the cleaners as well?

Okay, PANIC time. One of my Photon is making an awful grinding noise when the axis moves and it's barely moving. hit 10mm up and I'm guessing it moved 2-3 mm. Last nights print failed. This morning when I checked it, when it was "done" it never returned to the top, it was about 1 inch above the vat. HELP!!

I had my first print of elegoo grey fail at I think it was 40 seconds base exposure, everything was on the fep, but a 2nd attempt with 60 seems to have dialed it in.

I'm talking about grey though just to be clear. I haven't tried maroon, but if you started with a similarly low exposure, you might try 60 as well.

I don't think I quite got a responce a while ago when I asked how are you guys printing your small rings with detailed holes in them, can you please please please point me in the right direction,

These are very small buttons and letters just won't print proberly.... What am I missing in the settings to help this.

Resin is anycubic grey for now but will be a black once I got them pri ting correctly.
