Richard Hale good to know.... I. SUPPOSE to have resin delivered from amazon Thursday ? ? but I'm not counting on it :(

So my last anycubic direct resin order took 14 days. This included a 5 day production time, anda 4 day quarantine in the local deport

I brought a 1l bottle of anycubic grey off amazon on the 11th and it arrived here in New Zealand on the 20th

Australia. Also theroute my resin took was torturous, fedex screwed up and it spent acouple of days bouncing back and forth between japan and china, and another to singapore. the previous order (my mega zero) took literaly 3 days from factory to door

I just bought printer and it said 2 to 6 business days then i find out it wasn't even in stock but oh well got great deal on it with coupon code i got.

Dan Gump I think so. Can’t tell much of a difference with the green so far besides don’t smell as bad.

I got a post on the Shine Sing page to get other people settings also for shine sing resin. For a base and cross referencing per color and printer.

Dan Gump It is similar. Bottom exposures 60-70S, normal exposures 8-10S.

I keep the first few from a bottle for brittleness testing, to give an idea on how over time the resin changed of parts I make that I don’t want to stress.

I auto supported that base like a champ

I’ve used supports as basing material for Titanicus.

Better over support than a fail.

I have a box for all waste, filament or cured resin. Eventually it'll probably just be tossed. Originally hoped to recycle the filament at home but none of those devices are very well reviewed with waste.

They would probably have good acoustic properties if they were on the walls of a room

yeah it would sure be nice if we could turn this stuff back into liquid resin again. I'd have a good couple of bottles of resin back from this support material that I've thrown away over time.

Depending on the type people can develop severe allergy to contact with resin in vapour/droplet form and in any case it shouldn't be used internally even after curing.

No. There is resin rated for limited skin contact and food contact once cured, that's about it. These are all acrylates, once cured they're fairly safe to handle in limited ways, as liquids they're all varying degrees of toxic, including beyond just drinking it.

Mmmmm. I've read the msds. It wasn't remarkable.
I'm getting lots of accidental exposure. Gloves breaking, resin seeping out of voids etc. So, what is should I be worried about?
I'm using monocure3d rapid gray if that helps.

I think so. I once visited a Formlabs expo and they were using some kind of special non toxic resin because it was a public place. Probably expensive though.

There is no FDA approved UV curable resin. Period. Point blank. Even resins used for casting are not considered food safe when pigmented powders are added due to the pigments not being regulated.

Also it is super unlikely a UV resin will ever receive a food safe rating in the US.

That said, there are companies that do 'Biocompatible Resin' for Dental/Surgical work. Depending on what you wanna do wi' it they may suffice.

However, average price is @ $350 per Litre . . . You may also struggle finding some in-country.

formlabs produces a resin that after being sterilized can be used for dentures, but it only works for sla printers, and is very expensive https://dental.formlabs.com/materials/

Eduardo Parati there are quite a few dental resins that are safe for oral use (for denture bases, temporary crowns and individual trays) but they are all above 200 euro mark per 0.5 l

Well, I am yet to see an SDS for that resin, but the only real difference is that the liquid polymer is made using soybean oil, rather than oil pumped up by a rig at sea, or whatever.

So the oil is more renewable, and therefore more eco-friendly. But it's not likely to be any less toxic to humans than regular resin.

Having said that, it's a really good resin, and ecology is important ?

There are dental resins that are used to make oral appliances like retainers. I would imagine they'd need non-toxic by the nature of their use. One of the brands I use are designed for the dental industry - Nextdent. Not cheap though!

Dean Guinn how old is your expired resin? I've never had resin go bad so far. I have old stuff (maybe 18 months old by now) and I still occasionally print with it.
