Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » IPA

原文網址 Richard Humble

Just for balance for the new owners; my personal experience of a year of ownership. There is a lot of stuff repeated as lore on here whereas my experience is very different:

I don't heat my resin and print in an unheated garage

I level using paper

I use Anycubic Black resin.

I fill my vat right up regularly and dip the ball joint (The horror!)

I tension my FEP with a bottle cap (No tuning)

I do have a Z rail upgrade as I had significant z-wobble

My prints only fail when I mess up the settings

Learn to level your machine properly

Learn to use the exposure test

Learn how to hollow, vent, angle and support your stuff

Faster prints are not better prints

Clean up properly after a print fail

Hold the bed when handling not the head

Always wear gloves and eye protection

Always have paper towels, IPA and space available around

Don't drink and print

Practice, learn, have patience, try again.

It's worth learning a CAD package (Fusion 360 in my case)

Happy printing

Rich

Interesting observation to share. Two print beds (each was two legs and an arm). Left side failed, right side successful. Printed one after the next (failure first) with only one variable changed - the FEP sheet. The FEP sheet (pictured) did not have any dents or holes--but had a little wear area that felt rough. Was not possible to clean the wear area even soaking with IPA, etc. You can see in the print where the wear area was the portion that failed.

I think it is interesting because when printing we have a lot of variables to consider--but this is an example of a specific FEP-related failure. I had an inkling it was the FEP because of other prints having problems and I keep two vats ready. But one could have also chased down a lot of other issues like LCD failures, some kind of problem with the file/supports, build plate leveling etc. This was just a little wear spot on the film.

NOTE - this is actually "non-fep" from epax. Which, other than this strange failure on a two week old sheet, has been working pretty well.

Hey y'all. Just noticed something, wanted to know the group think. Going through my first round of routine maintenance and noticed some things.

Original photon owner, maybe four or five months now. Bought brand new.

My lead screw has a very small amount of play, maybe a millimeter or two in any direction. This is especially noticeable when the bed is at home position. The actual blue metal bed plate holder does not move when traveling up and down.

Is that normal? I never noticed it before but I also never thought to check either.

Also, I have a very very small several pixel wide tiny bit of resin or something cured on the screen. I've tried the lens wipes. Can I wipe it down with a microfiber cloth that has ipa on it or will that damage the screen?

Looking for help with EcoResin (I have Orange coming on Friday). Totally new to printing, but don't think I saw help with this specifically...

1) Should I still rinse Ecoresin in IPA, or do i need to clean with something else (e.g. Ethyl or just plain dish soap)?

2) What are the recommended print settings? I've seen a few different suggestions, but nothing that seemed to be consistent.

Thank you!

I don’t know if this has been mentioned before on here, I was looking for Irish / UK equivalents to Mean Green to clean my resin prints instead of IPA.
I tried “Flash General Purpose Cleaner” in my Ultrasonic Cleaner, 5 litres costs €11 here in Ireland.
The prints came out nice and clean with no damage, I rinsed them in warm water and cured them as normal.

Ok New to resin printing. Only problem I'm having is even after rinsing with IPA than curing the smell is still terrible.

I'm also working with Flex and ABS, I know both are potent.

Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

Any idea what caused the white buildup test file made today. And only thing I can think of would be ipa wash did something after print. It was cured too.

So I've cleaned and strained my IPA several times to the point where I think it's time to replace my first wash tank. I placed it outside for the last couple days and now entire container is one gelatinous glob.. looks like fresh mozzarella LOL how does one dispose of that is it safe to throw in the trash? Please suggest recommendations

Looked around didn't see a direct answer om. This. In a resin printer. If you print overnight. In the am is it too late to post process in ipa.? Will resin cure on plate and tank? Indoors 70 degrees F and lights off.

Don't know what everyone has under and in their printer workstations. I've mostly seen trays and had trays everywhere myself. I saw a video where Uncle Jessy had a custom silicone mat and I figured there had to be something similar out there. Enter the very large, very cheap silicone baking mats. I ordered one to try and it's so so much better than the trays I had before. I now have them under my 2 photons and cleaning station. Just wipe clean with IPA and a shop towel or after all the work is done shine a UV flood light and simply pick up and pooled resin. Such a quality of life upgrade, I'd thought I'd share.
