Hi Photonsters. I have a Photon in my well-vented maker space at school just set up my Photon at home and the resin smells really strong. I can only set it up in one area in my basement but i have no way to vent the fumes--no nearby windows.

Ii'm sure that others have had a similar problem. What can I do to reduce the smell? Change resins? Plug the fan hole?

So I have a ventilation issue which I'm trying to tweak. Short version is that I have something rigged up on the vent with a hose that leads out of the area. It was working, but I'm starting to notice fumes.

I've been checking the seals on my contraption, and am considering covering the printer with something while printing. But it also occurred to me that I switched resin from the Elegoo Grey to AnyCubic Green...

I thought I'd check to see if people have found that certain resins give off more fumes than others. ((If there's a resin forum that you know of that's a better fit for this question, please point me there!)

Hi , I am an amateur at SLA printing and am currently using the Anycubic Photon S to get my prints. I tried using the Ameralabs test print to test the settings for 3Dresyns’ NG 3Dresyn FA30 Clear.

However, I have yet to get any workable results as I’m not sure how to optimise the parameters using the photon slicer to get a reasonable print.

I’ve done the XP finder test too and I could barely see anything forming on the layer.

Really need a way to find out the parameters for my elastic resin, thank you!

Photos ( from nearest to furthest ) : exposure time - 8, 10, 14 , 16 , 18s respectively.

Alright!

I managed to find some FEP packs on Amazon, and I also ordered a metal filter so I don’t need to buy the paper ones, and I got a 1Liter bottle of black Anycubic resin!!

They will arrive tomorrow and I can start printing again!!

One question though.

If I relevel the plate on the FEP that has the hole using the Flint Read method since it’s already damaged, and then I switch out the FEP on the vat, will that effect the leveling I just did or will it be ok!!

Well almost time to give a water washable resin a try and see how well it works. Hopefully it works ok so I can get rid of the IPA

Hey Everyone,

What in your opinion is the best resin to print 1:56 (28mm) scale tabletop models? Used Anycubic green but find it not very flexible hence smaller parts brake off quite easily.

Help needed :O

I have had My Photon S for a little under a week now and I'm still trying to wrap my head around the different settings. I have had some successful prints but lately I have been having some issues.

I have just tried printing the Calibration Matrix and I can see right off that something is off.

I have included pics of the result as well as my settings. The Print is noticeable thinner on one end compared to the other and the details are somewhat washed out.
I did a fresh leveling of the build plate just before the print. Using the Anycubic Green resin that came with the printer.

Any advice on tweaked settings or possible problems with the printer would be very welcome to help me on my way :D 翻譯年糕

Hi group. I used to be form2 user at work and I'm planning to buy a photon for my hobby. I plan to print propellers for drones and my doubt is: how are the resins for photon? How brittle are the printed pieces? With form2 I have many different sorts of resins with different mechanical properties. Is there a good variety with photon too? If yes can you give me some links? Very appreciated. Cheers.

For new owners!!! If your builds are failing to adhere to the build plate, this is the fix that 100% solves the issue and it can be printed on your Photon for your Photon. The issue is caused by a defect in the design where the control arm comes in contact with the resin tray wall, leaving a gap of only 0.02mm. This might not seem like an issue at first but when your initial layer is typically 0.03mm thick it tends to stick to whichever object holds the majority of its mass.

This is super easy to install once printed and due to its small size comes off the printer almost completely cured. Remove the 4 screws holding your build plate and insert this between the build plate and mounting bracket. Replace the screws, re-level, and your builds should no longer stick to the tray.
