Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » resin

Hi guys, another christmas noob here. Forgive me if this information is readily available somewhere but I've searched and read lots of articles, posts, reviews, reddit and I've seen the excel sheet. I still need help finding a general consensus on a reliable resin brand and colour for printing detailed tabletop miniatures.
Brand: Wherever I look I get mixed messages about most brands. Some people say Elegoo resin is more consistent than Anycubic (the Elegoo Grey is seemingly popular). Some people also say Anycubic resin is more brittle than Elegoo but sharper details.
Colour: Some people say transparent resin blurs details but some people say it works better. I personally liked the green translucent bottle that came with the printer, it also didn't smell much. Recently bought some Anycubic Maroon which was cheap but it stank to high heaven, was noticeably lower detail and about 50% job success rate. To be fair though, I've only had the machine for 2 weeks so its almost certainly user error. 翻譯年糕

Guys,

I've printed a sculpture with the Photon. Although I am super impressed, my knowledge is very rudimentary.

I set my timing with Anycubic Skin to 8s and 50s/5. Yet I experience some kind of feature loss on the sides facing to the plate. Room temperature is about 26-28 at the printer.

I use prusa slicer, it produces supports that are easy to remove almost without any damage to the model.

Washed to model for a couple of minutes to wash out resin from the hollows. Cured for 15-20 minutes (it took that much time to gain surface hardness against scratches)

So question is, what's the best way to print? How long do you currently, wash etc.

Starting to feel like there might actually be something wrong with my Photon.

Every time I've tried to print something that isn't tiny, the print has failed and this is the second time that the print has failed with cured resin in places where there should definitely be no cured resin, everything you can see in the picture is cured and a previous print had the entire FEP cured wall to wall.

-AnyCubic Photon (ye olden model)
-AnyCubic Green
-BarKeep by VaeVictisMiniatures on Thingiverse
The bed was level, the firmware is on 4.2.18

Have you ever seen fails like this before? Should I just send it back as defective?

how deep can you fill the resin bin once the build has gotten to the point where the build plate is well above the resin bin? Can you fill the bin to the top? For a long running print - like 8 hours over night? Phoron -S.

So I finally finished my biggest print and realized that while I hollowed the model I forgot to put holes.

Took the Dremel and drilled two small holes in it and then a can of compressed air and holy crap that was a lot of wasted resin.....only reason I did it was because I know when resin cures it expands and I heard it could possibly crack and warp your model later down the line and leak out resin....did I fix it correctly or is there some other way I should of gone about doing this (other then not being g a dummy and remembering to put holes in it in the future?)

Hola all. First time posting ?

Instead of wasting anymore resin I felt I should run the exposure test (I spent Christmas away reading up here).

Can I confirm that 4 or 5 would be the best choice? Monocure rapid grey.

What would be my next step?
