Just bought it, followed instructions(I thought), test print took 7 hours, I didn’t open it and it ended with a flat hex thing. Please help, how do I set this up so it works, also shouldn’t the uv light show on test print? Hey guys,

I've been receiving a lot of positive feedback about my clear prints and how to achieve the "right out of the printer" look. So here some of the things I found out during my printing.

1. Biggest cause of yellowing is UV exposure. You may have heard to keep your prints out of direct sunlight as it will eventually yellow the print. This also applies to both the UV curing stage and exposure during printing. These are the 2 ways I've tackled it:

- Switched to water washable resin. I used Polyjuice's water washable resin, but I'm sure other brands will do just as fine. Other than using water instead of IPA, the huge advantage is that it does not require a UV light to cure. This removes one of the 2 biggest yellowing factors.

- Use fresh resin everytime you print. The second biggest yellowing factor is constant exposure within the printer itself. I find the resin will start to yellow after 9 hours of printing. Therefore you may want to measure how much resin you need per print (so you can refill the vat after every print) or increase the layer height to keep larger prints under the 9 hour time limit.

You can really see the difference with the UV exposure in the last photo. The model on the left was printed in eSUN clear resin which was cured using a UV nail lamp + the resin was constantly used over the course of a week. The right model is using the water washable resin that was fresh from the bottle.

2. After drying, you'll notice that the prints turn cloudy/opaque. To combat that, you can spray 2 or more medium coats of automotive clear coat (I have not tried other types). You can see the before and after in the second and third pictures. Do note that you need to coat both sides of the print to get the effect, meaning hollowed out prints will not be nearly as transparent since one side can't get sprayed.

Tldr: use fresh water washable resin and clear coat.

Tldr: 使用淡水可洗樹脂和清澈的外套.

Because of amount of requests i get im strugling to keep track of them in Facebook so please read this post and if you want to purchse my kit fill my Google Form https://forms.gle/BCrzUGEbLjXesA2c9

This way i wont loose any of you. Facebook started blockin people as spam in my PM. Everyone who didnt get replys from me use the form please. I will go through each request in order of application. TY.

Please be patient it may take some time!

Hello everyone! Im about a year in Resin 3D printing with my Original Photon. And I had many issues with delamination at the end or in the middle of process. So drew and printed my 4 point Build plate leveling upgrade first from plastic in my FDM printer. Yes, the design is northing new. There are several ways to do it. And im not the only one who offers this upgrade. This is my variant and it proved it self good. I done in my way and been testing it and tweaking over 6 months and my printing experience was superb. Then i thought why not make it in metal and forget about swaping it from time to time when it breaksHello everyone! Then i thought why not make it in metal and forget about swaping it from time to time when it breaks or stretches.

So i designed a CNC version from aluminum. I made 1 for my self showed it to friends in my country and they all said "Shut up and take my money". So i started making some for those who want one the same upgrade. After some time i decided why not offer my upgrades to more people here in facebook because i read posts in this group and one of the most popular problems - delamination or nothing sticking to build plate.

First post got my PM flooded asking for prices. So with the aproval of Vinicius Silva i will post Price and conditions right in the post so that you could PM me if you want to order one for your self. I will try to answer all questions in this post. It is very tyring to answer the same thing to all of the people. No offense.

So for those who wonder what it is for and what are the benefits i explain:

Anycubic is the only one (to my knowledge) who uses ball joint build plate leveling mechanism, other companies use 4 point leveling and there is a reason for it:

1) Ball joint leveling mechanism is faulty on some stock Phonots. When you tighten the set screw - the buld plate moves away from being horisontal by some hundreds of mm. It is hard to see if you dont look for this specificaly. And that is main reason for most of delaminations. 4 point leveling does not let buld place to do that.

2) Ball joint mechanism is hard to tighten strong because you rist to strip the set screw. So you always have an opportunity to ruin the level of buld plate.

3) Stock level can be ruined in cases:

- pressing hard on build plate whyle cleaning and holding it by top part

- Pressing hard on buld blate whyle cuttng of some strongly stuck prints

- When printing a part with big contact surdace with fep on 1 half of buld plate and some smaller parts on other side. While lifting up buld plate gan unlevel because of big part need more force to unstick from fep. (If you hear popoing sounds that is when part stick to fep film and build platform pulls it of the fep while going upward.

Unleveled build plate can be dangerous for the screen. If level is way off it can crush the screen.

Some benefits of the kit:

1) Much more relible printing (more successful prints)

2) Less resin waste (less failed prints)

3) You can squeez a few more mm in Z height (not a big deal but may be usefull)

4) you can overfill your vat for Longer unattended prints if you add a little bit of silicon sealant around the holes on build plate where 4 long screw enter the plate.

5) Almost impossible to ruint the leveling. No need to fear hard pressing while cleaning ot cutting prints of the build plate

6) Super easy procedure of leveling.

7) You can tighten bolts as mucj as you can. It is "buletproof" and will last a lifetime.

The kit price is (in tree popular currencies)

50 USD +10USD for shipping. (60usd in total)

or

45.5euro + 9euro for shipping (54.5euro in total)

or

38.5GBP + 7.5GBP (46GBP in total)

Same shipping rate will be from 1-5 kits. More than five will cost a bit more.

I accept PayPal or bank transfer (i give requisites)

Kit includes An instruction manual of how to install and level build plate with pictures. (In English).

I send using regular post with all way tracking.

( i have experience of sentding to Italy and England and there were no problems, tracking worked all the way)

My first post was deleted because i failed to do it correctly. This time i hope it is right.

Yo can visit my instagram (link in my profile) and see for yourself that im not a scam. Im more than 5 years in 3d printing in total (FDM) One year doinf Resin printing.

Since I see a bunch of post on how people deal with UV curing, ventilation, etc. This is my UV curing box lol.

I was on a very tight budget so I got a cheap UV led strip and stuck it in the styrofoam packaging that came with the Photon. The aluminum is to prevent the UV from "bleeding" through styrofoam.

With Anycubic being on holiday till the 1st I'm hoping the community here might have some suggestions. I've been running 4.2.17 for a while now and recently started to experience frame shearing on the right side of the printer thats been getting progressively worse and thicker. I have attempted to upgrade to 4.2.18 (and 4.2.19 even though I've heard it has issues). However when attempting to upgrade and then run the UV check the entire screen just flickers and flashes making it impossible for me to print anything while running those two firmwares.

Has anyone run into this issue and found a way to get around it? I have just been using the left side of my printer at 4.2.17 but have some designs lined up that will require the entire print bed to be used and I don't want to deal with the frame shearing.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I now have a problem.

After I printed the dragon head, I tried doing more prints.

4 attempts and 4 failures. All of them got their base layers but they are all sticking to the FEP.

So I went down the checklist.

I releveled the plate using paper method.

I scuffed up the build plate a bit more to help adhesion.

I went back into Chitubox and added more supports to all the models.

I cleaned out the vat after each failure and filtered the resin to get rid of any small particles and resin chunks etc. I gently wiped the vat clean with a bunch of paper towels and tissues with a little bit of warm water, put the resin in the bottle and shook it real good.

I was about to try the Flint Read method and I noticed something.

There is a small hole in the FEP and I have absolutely no idea how it got there.

Are there any temporary solutions that will allow me to print stuff until I can get a new one??

Will a layer of clear packing tape on the bottom allow me to safely print? Or will that effect the UV penetration?

Or should I just wait and replace it?

And if anyone can provide a link for buying replacement FEPs it would be greatly appreciated!!!

New printer here. Wanna make sure i understood this right.

It sounds like, once a model is done curing. You wanna hit it with a clear coat to prevent(or at least reduce) further uv exposure?

Im not a scientist... but i didnt think thats how light worked. If a clear coat really helps then my mind is blown ;)

Seriously....what is happening!?

I’ve been running my Photon for a year now and within the last few months have started to, at first, get sludge at the bottom of the vat after printing, with some sludge layers in between the print (but not affecting the print). So I updated the firmware as people suggested.

NOW I’m getting hardened layers after prints and my models are starting to suffer. You can see the sheering in the supports on the 3rd image. I thought it looked like there might be a leak in the film, but when I removed the tray, it was fine.

Is this the sign of a dying UV screen?
