Hello guys. I have the following problem stated here.
I have 3 photons and 2 of them Are giving me this problem at the end of every prints.
Each photon shares the same profile.
I have this kind of residue at the bottom of the vat all the time from 1 month apart.
The print doesn't fail but still I have to clean it.
Could it be possible that the lcd is going to stop working soon?
I have used these 2 printers for 6 months daily without replacing the LCDs.

All the suggestions are welcome.

+ I have got also sometimes this kind of problem: Smashed prints at the bottom. Not sure if they are related but still.

Room temp: 20°
0.05mm per layer
Prima creator resin

I even tried to bump the cooking time to 10 sec but nothing changed.

Thank you so much for all your help <3

Could be pigment separation. Make sure you shake the bottle good and if you leave the resin in the vat for an extended time, stir it well.

Francesco Ostili

I'll have a try!
Never thought about it.

Tony Tidwell
2020-03-27 12:14:00

Try using 3-in1 Multi-purpuse PTFE Lubricant on the inside botton of your vat. You can find a how to video on youtube. Basically just rub a fine coat on the bottom of the vat and it helps prevent resin sticking. If it does stick it is a lot easier to clean up.

I have noticed that my fep is not holding its tightness. I tuned to 360hz, then after 1 failed print it is down to 330hz. Any ideas what is going on? Egloo grey, 8 bottom layers at 90 sec(I think) 14sec exposure, 10mm lift.

翻譯年糕

Alexander Bayerdorffer
2020-03-27 00:08:10

As it's pulled and stretched as it realeases the material it's going to loosen up a touch. 300 is a good number anyways I'd leave it. But any new fep especially is going to relax a bit after the first couple prints

Dan Seisdedos
2020-03-27 00:17:21

Would it be worth just repeating a print until the film is done relaxing? After it is all stretched, then adjust print settings ect?

Scott Schenkeir
2020-03-27 00:30:29

When I got weird things like that I found that I was trying to print at .4 instead of .04. Always worth a check haha

Joey Pruitt
2020-03-27 01:24:27

It heats up and stretches. Just put a Gatorade cap under when you change it and don't worry about tuning it, waste of time.

Dan Seisdedos
2020-03-27 01:37:13

Joey Pruitt that's what I did, and I am not getting prints. I tried with aftermarket 0.2mm film, had same issues, now I am trying with an OEM film

原文網址 Steve Landers
2020-03-26 23:54:59

I have not been able to get one of my own designs to print yet. It sticks to the FEP every time. I printed the test cube and it works, so I am guessing that the problem lies within my slicer settings. This is my latest settings. Should I do anything with the Z-Lift, Z-speed, Z-Retract?

Also, should I do anything with the machine settings at the bottom?

Thanks!

翻譯年糕

Lorenz Nijs
2020-03-26 23:56:13

I leave the Z lift etc well alone, got the same settings as you and no problems.

Lorenz Nijs
2020-03-26 23:56:35

oops, entered too soon, I'd check exposure settings or supports.

Niall Forrester
2020-03-27 00:03:52

To be able to give any advice about exposure, the group would need to know which resin you are using and which printer model (Original, zero, S etc)

Please also post a screenshot of the slicer showing what you are trying to print, so we can see orientation and support placement.

I assume you are using the same resin as for the successful test cube(?)

Steve Landers
2020-03-27 00:20:01

I am using the Anycubic translucent green.

Steve Landers
2020-03-27 00:22:36

Here is a full screen shot of the print

Mi Ha
2020-03-27 00:26:43

Steve Landers What exactly sticks to the fep? The base stays on the plate or is it torn of? Try angling the print, you don't want large horizontal areas to print at once especially straight from the supports.

Steve Landers
2020-03-27 00:49:38

I don't get anything sticking to the plate. I just realized that on that screenshot it shows bottom exposure of 90, but that was a setting I was just going to try out. It was 50 before that. I will try and angle the print a bit.

Mi Ha
2020-03-27 01:03:58

If the base doesn't stick to the plate then it's likely underexposure of the base, improperly set offset to the fep, bad level, or improperly mixed resin.

Steve Landers
2020-03-27 01:14:22

I am trying another print right now using longer exposure times.

Steve Landers
2020-03-27 10:48:02

Good report. I increased the print time for the first layers, and it is working now!

After lots of trial and error and using a liter bottle of the basic Anycubic resin, I got my 1st prints out semi successful. On some parts of the model came out nice and crisp while some areas looks like the resin melted or the support fused to the model itself. I did use auto support on the slicer. What can I do to fix this?

Lorenz Nijs

Might be over exposure, how long are you exposing?

Anders Jens Ramm
2020-03-26 23:14:56

I feel your frustration, just startimh resin printning as well, and get the same results ? ?

Willie Randell
2020-03-26 23:18:43

Two things stop auto support. It does not get all the spots needed and will cause fusing. Go watch 3d printing pro on YouTube. He does support tutorials that helped most of us get started. Second search this groups main page for the resin test. It will save you a ton of time finding setting.also the excel spreadsheet helps starting out.

Tony Tidwell
2020-03-26 23:20:06

I just printed a Wendigo usingAnycubic basic white resin and all I was able to salvage was the head and arms from the print. I am readjust the angle and removing any auto-suports that seem excessive.

Malcolm Robinson
2020-03-26 23:21:49

As a relatively newbie to the 3DP world, I have been told (and am finding this to be true) that the majority of print errors are due to 2 things- either build-plate levelling or exposure settings: this would seem to be overexposure of your resin. I am using Elegoo resin so no point in me giving settings, but I’m sure the group can help.

Nathan Kopp
2020-03-26 23:37:59

right, dont use auto supports, please post your settings

Dennis Walter Jr.
2020-03-27 00:06:10

I see these type posts a lot, first question, is it level? Next question, is everything tight, Third question, did you try to print something with just standard settings without changing anything? Last question, did you do an exposure test and then adj ust from standard settings if they didn’t work? I have had zero issues with very slight adjustments from standard. I just don’t get why all the trouble people have with this.

Mongo Rogers
2020-03-27 01:15:42

A couple days ago I did the very model set you are doing. Couple things:
1. Exposure looks way too high (mine was 7s for elegoo gray)
2. Too many supports and the orientation could be a touch better

Shoot me a pm around 5pm or 6pm EST and I'll shoot you the stl file with supports I used.

Jacob Palmer
2020-03-27 17:13:57

I would suggest toning down the exposure by a second or two; the detail looks a little blurry.
To avoid damage to the model, I suggest using prusa slicers auto support feature. Some will say don't bother, but it works well enough for a beginner. Use 75% density auto supports and it should be fine.
