I'm slightly obsessed with finding alternative ways to post-process that don't rely on alcohols. I've posted about it a couple times before but not recently.
This generally means using an ultrasonic cleaner with a modern industrial degreaser that contains glycol ethers (preferably propylene glycol-based) and long-chain ethoxylates. These are generally much safer and PLEASANT to work with than primary alcohols. But also expensive (ResinAway for example).
Currently, this stuff is my goto.
Gabriel Holmes
turned me onto it after one of my previous posts on the subject. I've been using it for over a week now and it is pretty fantastic. Best part is that it only costs about $5 per gallon and readily available at your local home store. Invest ~$80 on an ultrasonic bath, stock up on this, and you will probably never look back.
Two minor downsides: first is that it contains ethylene-based glycol ethers which are slightly less desirable from a safety standpoint (but also cheaper to manufacture) than the propylene counterparts. I mean, it's brake fluid, so don't bathe in it please. Second is that it's mostly water so requires heat (40-50C) and a fairly long run (10-15min) in the ultrasonic bath to get your stuff clean. But it works better than the last stuff I posted on (Yellow Magic 7) and costs about 20% as much.
I still have others up my sleeve - the obsession continues - but this is a good one and well worth posting about. Many thanks to Gabriel for finding and sharing it.
