OK fellow crazy's so got a little bored and the one thing i keep seeing and hearing is people talk about is the smell of resins. So conducting a few exsperments with Extracts and I haven't really seen anybody do or try this and I have this dream of printing out a fruit bowl full of different fruits that you can pic up and smell as if it where real fruit ? , Test one was a success and the part dose have a faint sent of vanilla.
Some facks on this first exsperment are :
1, I only had vanilla in the house to test lol but gonna try other ones like strawberry, banana, mango and so on.
2, Ingredients in this bottle are vanilla bean extract, water and alcohol.
3, Boiled for a few seconds to cook off the water and was left with a concentrate that mixed exstreamly well with the resin ( anycubic gray ) a small amount was added to the resin and left for 4hrs to see if any separation.
4, Yes it did change the color of the anycubic gray resin
5, commenced printing of something flat just to see if any issues with the print.

Out come is it did print and does have a faint smell of vanilla ? Will continue testing when i get the chance and i really dont know why companies making resins haven't already done this ?

Hello everyone,

Thank you for adding me to the group, I am a new owner of Photon and yesterday I did the first print test with the classic 3D Benchy. I climbed it by 50% and used the Elegoo translucent resin. The beginning did not go very well but afterwards it was printed as it should be. Does anyone have any advice to avoid that front that has solidified into a single block? I also enclose the print settings.

Thanks in advance

Hi guys, i know that it can sound like a dumb question but is there a way to invert the process of the polymerization of the resins for 3d printing?

Sometimes resins can be very expensive and we all waste it a lot, think for example of supports or failed prints.
Having a method to convert that waste again in liquid resin can be very helpful

Hey all thanks for having me in the group. Ordered the photon and it's my first resin printer and while waiting a week for its arrival I had studied up with tons of videos on setup and troubleshooting so I could hit the ground running. Well I am assuming my buildplate is fairly level as my model adhesion seems sound and in general the lattice comes out stright, but there is a random break on one side and warping as the piece progresses. Any idea what the likely cause of this could be?

Uhm... Did I order a lemon? Suddenly I am finding all sorts of reviews burnign down the Photon-S, because of the Photon Slicer and the lack of support for other slicers? Should I cancel my order? HALP!

I'm really happy with my Photon, and all of a sudden I'm finding myself looking for an FDM printer for larger pieces - mainly miniature gaming stuff (ships, houses and the like). Any recommendations? Things I'm looking for:

- Very good quality. Striations are why I've steered clear of FDM in the past, and printing with the Photon has established certain standards. I'm looking for as close to resin quality as possible. Miniatures I'll print on the Photon, so that's not an issue.

- Decent price point. I'm looking to spend something along the lines of 250-400 EUR (~275-440 USD, 213-340 GBP).

- Large enough build area. I have the Photon for smaller pieces. The Photon's build plate is pretty small at 115 x 65 x 155 mm. I don't need a huge machine, but something noticeably bigger.

- Ease of use. Time is money etc, so while I don't mind tinkering, I'm not looking to build a machine from scratch and start with printing replacement parts for it. The more plug & play it is, the better! Of course as with the Photon, I'm happy to tweak settings for the best results and so on.

I'm currently looking at the Creality Ender 3 and (inspired by recent reviews) the Lotmaxx SC-10. Any others worth considering? Experiences with these machines? All help is welcome!

Hey guys, I’m trying to pull some silicone casts of models I’ve printed. I’ve found the silicone won’t cure while in contact with the resin. Has anyone else run into this?

I’m using any cubic grey.

I’m going to give it another shot with some parafin mould release as a barrier. But thought I’d post here for tips before wasting another round of silicone.
