This POS is about to be sent back. I have leveled the best I can, I have used a new USB, usually the settings for Anycubic Grey. Like what the hell?

What file format does a USB need to be for the Photon?

Issue with Photon not reading files.

I printed a successful 12 hour print over night 2 days ago. It finished, I turned the machine off, took the plate and print off, and went to play DND.

I loaded a file in Chitu this morning, went throught the normal paces, saved the file and loaded it onto my USB.

Plugged in to the Photon, it sees the file, but when I press to print it says "Failed to read file."

Crap.

I take it out, load the file it printed last, and same issue.

I re-format the stick and re-load the 2 files. Same thing.

I try a new USB (haven't tried this one with the Photon before.) Same issue. I re-format that one just because. Same issue.

Where do I go from here?

Open a ticket and get a replacement usb port?

To answer the questions I am sure are coming-

Photon (Fauxton)- Not Photon S, not original Photon

Chitubox 1.6.3

Validator-yes

Not STOCK USB- has been working and I have been getting successful prints with it

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello everybody,

I need a dump from stm32 anycubic photon (first version not model S)

I decided to upgrade my photon to the latest firmware, but during the LCD update, the printer rebooted and began to squeak wildly, I hurried and turned off the printer power too early, as a result, the printer did not start :( Attempts to reflash this properly through usb were unsuccessful.

I was advised to connect via SWDIO to STM32 and reflash it through the PС. I have a friend, who helped me with this. We are connected - STM32 is really live, recording on STM32 is successful, however I only have a dump from the Photon S model, but there is no dump from the very first model. If we understand correctly, we need an original or reflashed dump from the original model. There is probably some kind of basic firmware that complements itself when starting from a flash, so just writing the firmware from the original site does not lead to a result.

Please, if anyone has the opportunity to share the original dump from the first photon model - I will be very grateful!

I've just finished flicking through the FAQ. it mentions replacing the rubbish USB stick included. which I did, but my photon has killed off 3 sticks so far, the included one and then 2 32gb FAT32 ones. They no longer are recognised as devices when plugged into my PC. are there some additional specifications that should be added to the FAQ? or have I done something wrong?

Hey Guys, i have a little problem. I am relativly new to 3d printing and i have no idea why my prints fail like in the pictures below. First i printed the pice without Support under the cablebridge and Layers poped of. I can understand why the first layers of the bridge did( no extra support) but why in the middle of the bridge Layers? The second print came out a little bit bader. I changed the slicer from photon to chitu box and it got worse. I now supported the bridge from the underside and it worked fine for the first layers but failed again by the middle layers as you can see. Now have you any ideas what could cause this deatachtment of layers? Could it be wrong settings? Thanks for any help. And i changed the USB a time ago i know the original that came with the photon isnt the best.

Hi!
So I am a proud owner of a Photon (luckily, the original, not a fauxton), bought last week with firmware 4.2.17

A couple of days ago, I got hit by the random freeze/reset/restart failure. After the first layer, the photon crashes and reboots, leaving me with the cured first layer of resin and having to clean up.

I can usually resolve the issue by turning off the printer, unplugging the usb stick, unplugging power for a couple of minutes. Replug power cord, turn on, and replug usb stick. If I want to start another print back2back, I will receive the first layer-freeze-restart error.

I have so far: checked the usb cable connections (inside back panel), which looked fine.

Through research, this seems to be an issue with some ICBuffer? Will a factory reset (via factory-default.gcode) help me with my issue? Should I upgrade to FW 4.2.18 first or after the reset?

Do I have to relevel (and set new z=0) after flashing FW or resetting to factory-default?

I have also read that the EEPROM may be corrupted through unstable power supply? How can I check if my power brick is faulty?

I have also replaced the anycubic usb stick with a new branded one and will stick to that one with all my ongoing operations.

Ok all here, more powerful fan mod, twin rail mod, duct to filter nod/or hose to went outside, couple heavy duty usb ports including 12v to 5v stepper for powering rpi zero w as wifi usb. Last thing to print is easy z0 mod for print head and that's it I guess ? 翻譯年糕

So have an interesting situation:

I have two Photon S and up until a week ago they were both running great, then I ran out of Elegoo Grey and ordered some Elegoo ABS-Like grey, this is where things got weird.

Printer 1 started messing up, it looked like part of the model ripped off of the supports (but other parts were fine, despite how I rotated the whole file) and ended up stuck to the FEP. Printer 2, running perfect!

Both printers had the same setting, i've tried using swapping the USB's and printer 1 is always a bust despite re-levelling and a new FEP. Now both printers are having all parts stick to the FEP...where did I go wrong? (Brain is really too burned out from a long week to think straight)

Welp, I need some advice.

My Photon started restarting itself after the first layer. It would freeze and then wouldn't lift the print bed and then restarts. I checked if it can't lift up anymore but I tested it and it can still go up and down using the leveling menu.

I tried a different file, different USB, different version of ChiTuBox, flashed the firmware to latest. Nothing works, still restarts after the first layer.

So its still a machine that mechanically works, it just doesn't print my files anymore. Help!
